PERSPECTIVE

my uncle took me to the train station

where my grandmother grew up​

where her father served his community

as the rail operator

​​

a place he stayed

a place she fled

​

both impacted by war ​

in different ways.

​

I gazed through the same window

my grandmother

peered through as a child

​

my view was the same as hers

& yet

I will never know what she saw
